Announcing the
2023 FUNDRAISER
for POTEMKIN PICTURES

Happy New Year!
2022 was a great year for Potemkin Pictures. We released 10 Star Trek fan films resulting in more than 60,000 total views! We saw the return of Project: Potemkin; three Starship Webster films; the debuts of Starship Caliborn, I.K.S. Qab'elth, and Firehawk; and a pair of fan favorite Starship Deimos productions. We won awards for Best Studio, Best Music, Best Lighting and Captain's Level Best Micro-Budget Fan Film. We were nominated for Best Visual Effects, Best Director, Best Editing, and were named an Official Selection for Austin's IndieFest 2022.
Now it's time to look to what we're presently doing.
We have films from Starship Deimos, Starship Caliborn, and Starship Webster in post-production. We have a film from Starship Tristan in production. We have films from Project: Potemkin, Starship Deimos (2), I.K.S. Qab'elth, Starship Webster (3) and Starship Caliborn (3) in pre-production.
In order to make this happen, we need your help with funding. Last year, we didn't make our goal, and that was disappointing. We understand, though, because times were tough. They're still tough, and they're tough on all of us. But we're asking for donations to help fund this years' productions.
Unlike past fundraisers, I'm not going to set a goal. I will simply say that each film now costs us around $300 to produce. This is just for costuming, makeup, props, lumber and the like. All the money received goes directly for paying expenses, not salaries. None of us are paid for our work.
Unlike previous years, we're not listing perks or incentives. You get to name your own perk. If you make a donation, your name will, of course, appear in the closing credits. If you would like to receive a perk, then you can name your perk, and if we think it's a fair exchange, we will do our best to honor your request. If you want to appear in one of our productions, make a fair donation, and we will make it happen. It's that simple. Tell us what you'd like, and we will try to make it happen.
We accept donations through our PayPal account:

The fundraiser will run from now until 11:00pm, Janury 31st 2023.
As always, please feel free to contact me at that email with any questions or concerns you may have!
Stay warm, stay safe, stay well!

STARSHIP WEBSTER
The Starship Webster, NCC-4104, is a newly-commissioned Centaur-class starship in 2304. This production will features the adventures of a starship on the outreaches of Federation territory, near the Romulan, Tholian and Orion border. Its focus is primarily diplomacy and first contact, but occasionally search and rescue, scientific studies, and investigation.
The Webster operates out of Starbase 211, located in Quadrant 9, Sector 72. This sector is adjacent to a section of the Romulan Neutral Zone, colonies of the Orion Barrier Alliance, and seed worlds of the Tholian Assembly. As a result, a variety of intergalatic interests come into play with many missions. There are also 43 Federation colonies in this region known as 'The Back Forty-ish.' The planets are basically agrarian, with a few scientific and medical outposts present. In addition, there are hundreds of unexplored, brave new worlds, filled with new lifeforms and new civilizations, all of which represent diplomatic opportunities for the Webster and its crew.
Simply put, and following the ship's motto, In Omnia Paratus, the crew of the Starship Webster is ready for anything.

Created in 2020 by the local fans in Lexington, Kentucky, production continues on this series. Currently there's one film in post-production, and three in pre-production (meaning there are accepted scripts in the queue to be produced in the coming year, films that need your support. And there are a variety (literally!) of films you can view here:

As we continue our 2023 fundraiser, let's take a look at "Why contribute to Potemkin Pictures?"
Today's answer is: STARSHIP DEIMOS.
Deimos was the second Birmingham-based production, shot at Studio 3 in Pelham, Alabama. We had a Star Trek 5 year mission series ("Project: Potemkin"), and we had just created a "delivery/transport ship" (Starship Tristan). I came up with the idea of a "coast guard cutter/border patrol ship" for Starship Deimos.
Set in the same quadrant and sector as Starship Tristan, known as 'The Back Forty-ish.' There are 43 colony worlds there, basically agrarian, with a few scientific and medical outposts present. A tempting target for pirates, an easy 'back door' into the Federation for smugglers, and rich, tempting worlds for those wanting to expand their territory. Deimos has been assigned to the sector to protect the Federation border. The vigilance and dedication of its crew are the only thing between those colonies and those who would do them harm.
You can view the entire collection Starship Deimos fan films here:
But if you'd like to view a handful of films to give you the basic feel of the production, I'd recommend these five films:
"The Archive"
"Where They Have Gone, We Follow"
"Butterfly Effect"
"Leviathan"
"Refugee"
Starship Deimos is our second-most viewed series (trailing "Project: Potemkin). Its next scheduled release, "Siren's Star," is deep into post-production. We hope to release it within a few months!
And coming up in 2023, we plan to film two new fan films to produce for Starship Deimos, including "Fly Trap" which features the return of Orion Crown Princess Mona as she extracts revenge on the crew of the Deimos. It's a fantastic story, and we're planning on shooting in April.
But we need your help to make it happen! Please make a donation today!

As most of you know, Potemkin Pictures is now fund-raising for the 2023 year. When I made the announcement Saturday, I listed our achievements and awards from 2022. And that evening, I was challenged by John Martinez:
"It may help your cause if you are more descriptive about plots and in which Universe or timeline this story takes place."
Fair enough, and quite right.
Today, I'd like to say a few words about Starship Tristan, the first of our Alabama productions. Rather than basically repeat the same mantra of Project: Potemkin, for Tristan we thought we'd take a look at the vessels that provide defense, scientific and medical support, diplomacy, deliveries, shipping and transport, search and rescue, from the extreme to the mundane.
Tristan has been assigned to provide support for those 43 colonies in Sector 72 which is adjacent to a section of the Romulan Neutral Zone, colonies of the Orion Barrier Alliance and seed worlds of the Tholian Assembly. It's never going to be easy...
I'd like to invite you check out the complete series of fan films with the playlist in preferred order of view:
